Viola 16″ by Stefano Conia, Italy 1974 (no.12)
This is an absolutely marvellous instrument, full of warmth, richness and character. It has a magnificently lush and even tone, perfect for cantabile playing and a G and C string capable immense power with luscious dark tone.
The back of this viola is gorgeous, with highly transparent vanish showing off a beautiful quilted figure on a two-piece back. The ribs have a lovely strong flame. The front piece has an even medium grain and elegant appearance. This viola is based of a Stradivari pattern and was made in Cremona 1974.
This is an excellent quality instrument and is highly player recommended.
