4/4 Cello German by C.A Wunderlich circa 1900

4/4 Cello German by C.A Wunderlich circa 1900

This instrument has wonderfully vibrant and melodious sound that is even across all four strings. It is powerful and resonant, and would easily do well to project over a piano or orchestra. This instrument’s tone has rich and complex overtones and is incredibly resonant. Harmonics speak bright and clear and fast passagework lends very nicely as it is highly responsive under the fingers. The high C string speaks clearly without choking and the high A string is sweet and lends very well to cantabile playing.

The front has gorgeous honey colour vanish with a consistent medium grain. It has a two-piece back with a matching honey vanish to the front and matching sides. The label reads C.A Wunderlich and was made in Siebenbrunn Vogtland Germany.

Length of back: 762mm
