Violin by Karl Hans Gutter, Markneukirchen 1919
This violin is delightfully resonant with satisfyingly rich overtones. The G string has a lovely sonorous sound.
It has a nicely flamed, two-piece back that has been varnished a rich, reddish brown over an amber ground. The instrument is in good condition with minor traces of light wear, reflective of its age that only adds to its attractiveness.
Although labelled a Strad, its form is more reminiscent of a Guarneri. This fine instrument will suit the advanced player who performs regularly in solo performances.
It has light wear reflective of its age.
Length of back: 355mm
